History Snippets

Hello, I will start at the beginning. My family was brought up in Bremhill. My grandfather worked at the manor farm, it was then owned by the vines. My mother lived at no 11, when she was small; she married a prisoner of war who was working on the farm. They moved into no 13.when I came along after two brothers we lived at Mount Pleasant farm. My elder brother went to Bremhill School, my younger brother and my self went to school in Calne. My grandparents name was Frayling and my parents name was Naldi. I hope that helps a little with the history of Bremhill, we finally left Bremhill in 1963.

yours faithfully

My mothers brother who was called Wilfred Frayling was a campanologist at Bremhill church plus several around. His wife and children all rang the bells. I have rung them a few times thou.  I was confirmed at Bremhill in 1973,the vicar was a Rev Yeoman. My mother use to clean the vicarage when Rev Brocklebank was the vicar.
I often walked across the fields from fishers brook to Bremhill.  Even to Sunday school and Sunday evening song.
I hope this helps a little more.
